Soooooo Good !

The Murat is a wonderful place to see a concert, and John Legend did not disappoint. He sounds exactly how you hear him on the radio. What a wonderful entertainer- He engaged the audience from the get go. His band, backup singers (stellar) were great. The whole concert had a retro feel, which was fun. My only negative comment is towards the rude people that I sat next to. They talked in high volume the entire time while on their undimmed screen phones. ... Read more

Absolutely Superb!

One of the most impressive aspects of John’s show was when he performed at the piano, just voice and keys. Stripped down bare he still commanded Ravinia. The rest of the show was, musically, equally superb. The background singers and the stage set were retro, like it was 1969, contrasting with the futuristic and incredibly beautiful graphic arts on the backdrop screens. Speaking of the background singers, the only thing more impressive than their gorgeous Afros and beauty were their superb voices and the class they exuded. Sound engineering was tweaked all night like a fine wine, getting better with each hour. The highlight though was John’s new destined to be a hit song, Stardust. We need the philosophical beauty of that song that we are immortal, born from stars and destined to once more, become stardust and live again. ... Read more
